Dr Alistair Lipp

Medical Director, Midlands and East (East)

Dr Alistair Lipp is Medical Director and Responsible Officer for the NHS England Midlands and East (East) regional team and also Head of School of Public Health for Health Education England across the East of England - responsible for the training programmes of specialty registrars in Public Health and also for the public health practitioner registration programme.


Alistair’s previous roles include Deputy Regional Medical Director for  Midlands and East Region, Medical Director and Responsible Officer of the NHS Norfolk and Waveney PCT cluster and Director of Public Health for the PCTs covering Great Yarmouth and Waveney.  He has worked for the World Health Organization in Copenhagen, Pakistan and Afghanistan and acted as an Expert Adviser to Ministries of Health in Georgia, Armenia and Montenegro as well as supporting the WHO Healthy Cities Programme which addresses inequalities in health through local government initiatives.


Alistair trained in General Practice and Public Health Medicine.
