Lisa Llewelyn

Director of Nursing & Clinical Quality

Lisa Llewelyn (RGN; RM; SCPHN (HV); BSc (Hons); MSc) is a Director of Nursing and Clinical Quality and Deputy Chief Officer at North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group
Having  trained at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London and worked as a nurse  in the NHS for over 35 years, Lisa feels privileged to have cared for patients and held clinical leadership roles in a variety of settings and locations within the acute sector,  midwifery, public health, community services, primary care, mental health; and more recently clinical commissioning.

In her current role, Lisa is at the heart of change in the development of integrated care and system partnerships, for the benefit of improving the patient’s experience. Her continued passion and motivation is to provide inspirational and dynamic clinical leadership; a strategic focus on high quality care and patient safety; promoting excellence in professional practice; and leading on quality improvements across care pathways with partners.

Lisa endorses the need to move care closer to a person’s home; to enhance self-care; to challenge cultural behaviours; and to be innovative in delivering new services. She firmly believes that through leading change, adding value and working in an integrated and collaborative way with other care partners, clinicians have a key role in reducing variation in quality and safety; narrowing health inequalities; and improving the health and wellbeing of our population.
