Passionate about being involved and helping people after being diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2004, I wanted to be able to support patients in times of need and found I was able to do this in a number of ways.   In 2007 I became a member of the James Paget Hospital Breast Cancer Support Group, ending up as Secretary for eight years.   I talk to 4th year Medical Students from UEA about my illness in order for them to learn and am the Patient Representative on the Norfolk and Waveney Breast Screening Programme Board.

A volunteer in the Royal Voluntary Service shop I work in the James Paget Hospital and also take library books to the housebound.    In July I am starting another volunteer role for the JPUH in either the Discharge Lounge or the Pharmacy.
